The Oxfam Glamour Models - Kick Out The Grams
[Marquis Cha Cha]

Kick Out The Grams is the scuzziest, dirtiest and most in-your-face bastard of a single that you'll hear all year. And what makes this track even more appealing besides the ear-piercing guitars and raw riffs, is the dark-humour of the group's tongue-in-cheek lyrics.

Released by the collectable and consistent Marquis Cha Cha label (the good folks who gave us We Start Fires, Bromheads Jacket and Whitey), the single is born out of disgust and hatred for the coke-snorting, celeb-obsessed youth.

The guitars are intense, urgent and sound like a thousand chainsaws are being let-off at once, while the production is as blistering as the band's "rawer than uncooked meat" live performances. The cynicism of the band continues deep into b-side Postmodern Stars, with vocalist Emmett slurring a line of "Nothing's worth doing, it's all been done before. Facing the future, is like facing a wall... We are the Postmodern Stars".

The Oxfam Glamour Models are seriously one of the most exciting, witty and promising bands to surface in a long time. Rest assured you'll be hearing a lot more from this bunch.
