Susan Christie - Paint A Lady / Ghost Riders In The Sky
[Finders Keepers]

Possibly the two rarest songs you'll ever hear. Both Paint A Lady and Ghost Riders In The Sky are taken from a long-lost classic album by Susan Christie - soon to be released by crate digging legends, Finders Keepers. So unbelievably rare a record, that only a handful of original copies still exist.

Paint A Lady is a folk-funk gem, that wouldn't sound out of place on Votel's Folk Is Not A Four Letter Word. The killer deep bassline that kicks off this DJ friendly track really does beg to be sampled. Equally entertaining is the Psych rock chorus of honey-coated vocals, accompanied by drum breaks and funky basslines. The tight rhythm section is really the brilliance behind both tracks.

Hats off to Finders Keepers for unearthing another quality release. Normally it would prove difficult for any label to better Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki and Jean-Claude Vannier's L'enfant Assassin Des Mouches, but if this is anything to go by, the Susan Christie album could well be the best release yet for Finders Keepers.
