The Strokes - Heart In A Cage
[Rough Trade]

Everyone loves The Strokes, and The Strokes hate everyone for loving them. Second First Impressions Of Earth single Heart In A Cage's release has been justified by the accompanying video; it's simply stunning. The boys show up to the video shoot and look pretty, and hey Preston, they've got another good single on their hands.

The first single, Juicebox, off the latest album was a bitch of a radio song. Any self-respecting DJ will have kept it around for lazy days, but it wasn't really The Strokes. A lesser riff, less energy and more sloppiness makes Heart In A Cage so much less of a single, but that much more The Strokes.

The solitary line "I got too excited when I thought you were around" isn't really them either. Feeling misunderstood? Well done for showing up gentlemen; you can go home now. Oh but the fans will be pleased; the angst is back.
