It is over all too soon. Straight off a thick pulsating riff and light drumming swell into lightly husky, American accented vocals pronouncing nonsensical lyrics. The Strokes have unmistakably taken the lacklustre acclaim of old 'flames', and channelled it into something approaching the energy of their collectively celebrated debut album.
It is unprecedented in it's brilliance simply because Juicebox sounds absolutely nothing like these boys have ever attempted on record before. The debauched video only adds to ideas of what might have been going on in their pretty little heads when writing this three-minute landslide.
Here there remains a classically mysterious absent-mindedness about the song. It leaves room for interpretation, and thus leads to the conclusion that 3:16 minutes of 'Juicy Juicing' around with The Strokes' new gear is just not enough.
