Franz Ferdinand's comeback single Do You Want To, gets the remix treatment from current hipster producer Erol Alkan, for this extremely limited 12".
Erol Alkan has been a busy chap this year, remixing everyone from Bloc Party, The Chemical Brothers, Mylo and Death From Above 1979, so it's only fitting he offers his services to art-rockers Franz Ferdinand. Alkan's track is dubbed as the 'Glam Racket' mix, which in turn means he samples the riff from Do You Want To, slaps on an accessible dance friendly drum beat and a few synths here & there, to produce a token throwaway indie-dance remix, more commonly deemed suitable only as pure b-side filler.
With their catchy new single Walk Away released in a few weeks, this remix 12" seems pretty pointless. But no one's doubting it wont sell out anyway.
