The Cinematics - Chase
[TVT Records]

Your writer must confess more than a slight fondness for wee bands from North of the boarder. And Glasgow's reputation as indie capital of the UK is
re-confirmed by the latest in a long line of twee, cord wearing shoe gazers, The Cinematics.

Debut single, Chase, has all the qualities that make Glasweigan indie so refreshing and instantly recognisable. Capturing Snow Patrol's drama and The Delgado's sentiment, it's a three minute flight through melancholy, heart ache, sadness and hope.

The sound of singer Scott Rinning's heart breaking, 'Chase' is the kind of song they'll play at the end of the world. There's a sense of urgency to the vocal, which Rinning breathes out as though they were his dying wishes. It's the perfect soundtrack to those long, humid, drawn out summer nights.

In an age when haircuts sell records, it's reassuring to hear a song so powerful and pure it gives you goosebumps, something producer Stephen Hague is no stranger to, having worked with New Order, Pet Shop Boys and Blur. 'Chase' is equally as epic and shattering as it's better known counterparts and has a killer chorus that instantly drags you in and refuses to spit you out.

The band recently toured with New York exports Ambulance LTD, and toured throughout August with the equally hyped Editors. 'Chase' is released on 10th October. Check them out and fall in love with music all over again.
