Believe it or not, Unconditional is only the third single from The Bravery's multi-selling debut album. With all the consistent airplay and touring like crazy, it feels like the band have been around for a life-time.
Unconditional finds The Bravery ultimately doing what they do best. Sam Endicott's schizophrenic vocals echo over an infectious collage of throbbing basslines and choppy guitars, with electro tinges and killer hooks. They make a similar mix of dance-rock and classic pop tracks in the same vein as Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes and The Killers, with an obvious influence of new-wave and art-rock.
Unconditional is an instant highlight and one of many from The Bravery's eponymous album. It does unfortunately, sound so much like everything else they have ever recorded, that it remains unseen as to whether they have the ability to make a second album of any substance.
