The Kooks, get used to hearing this name. If the sparkling sounds of debut single 'Eddies Gun' are anything to go by, chart success is inevitable for this Brighton four-piece. Formed in music college, the boys were snapped up by virgin records at one of their early gigs.
Intelligently, the band aspires to evolve and make 'real music', they also claim to value their song writing above anything else. It is perhaps this very reason why the entire two minutes and six seconds of 'Eddies Gun' are not only unavoidably hummable but lyrically denote truth. The passionate vocals of Luke Pritchard singing 'Did you see the way she looked at me?' engage the listener throughout, almost enabling the lyric to later outstay its welcome in your head .
There is a gap within popular music, the kooks are going to be the perfect fit. A must see band of the summer and Indie pop at its very best.
