Arctic Monkeys - Fake Tales Of San Francisco
[Domino]

Would you believe that this was the first proper release from the four Sheffield hype-magnets? With the huge success of the 5-track EP titled 'Five minutes with arctic Monkeys' released at the end of last month, the band recently signed to Domino, (label home to Franz Ferdinand) and have been on tour for the past few months gaining a truly awesome fan base.

The self-penned lyrics, already sparking comparisons to early libertines, are passionately voiced by Alex Turner. The initial description in 'Fake tales of San Francisco' is that of a 'wedding disco' and it is accessible and acceptable by all, the repetitive 'I don't want to hear you' allows the listener to absorb the situation in depth. It is as if we are then dragged into the electric climax of the song almost uncontrollably without knowledge, by the time we reach the ecstatic "Get of the bandwagon, put down the handbook" the music is awesome, we are utterly convinced by the lyrics and are somewhat unknowingly chanting along at the top of our voices. This is amazing.

With this such powerful tracks it no surprise that Arctic Monkeys gigs now often become fan riots.... and this is prior to releasing a record. For these four Northern teens, the future is very, very bright.
