randomNumber has been a key player in the Leeds music scene for the last decade, seeing his skills as a drummer aid numerous bands that include Coping Saw, Rauschen and post-rock / electronica hybrid, Hood.
EP Charge is a 5 track collection of cinematic, playful and ambitious organic electronica, constructed of gorgeous melodic moments and overseen with sharp production aims. Glitch and stretched noise begin proceedings, backed by an army of brute-force beats and synths. Flipping dramatically from the agressive to the serene, the processed strings, xylophones and scattered electronics of Hawthorn share the same vision as Pedro's magnificent 'Koolhaas', while When 2 shares the majestic qualities of early Aphex Twin.
randomNUMBER in a word makes "Post Rock electronic" music - it's Mogwai's Rock Action meets Hood's Cold House, while being co-produced by Cex. Inspiring and essential.
