The Earlies - Morning Wonder
[Names]

'Morning Wonder' is the perfect example as to why so many people have welcomed The Earlies debut album, 'These Were The Earlies' with open arms. It contains every aspect of their sound into a perfect 4 minute space-pop anthem.

Based around a harmonic mantra-like vocal which surrounds itself in smooth-as-butter synthesizers and lazy, lethargic beats, it's a cross between indie darlings and digital studio programming. Guitars stutter and start like a stuck engine, as twinkly electronics and vintage space-age effects boom out over the top.

'Kelly Brown' and 'Nature's Mistake' are the new b-sides and like some of their previous material, are floating instrumentals. 'Kelly Brown', featuring Kelly Brown of The Delays, is sickening processed off-key noise and acoustic guitars in what sounds like a mere demo, although 'Nature's Mistake' is a classic Earlies track - lullaby keyboards, child-like chimes and percussion with refrained slide guitars (courtesy of Micah P Hinson) and the all-important sign of an Earlies masterpiece - an immensely warm melody.

The Earlies were created out of boredom for average music, what they finished with is a never-ending display of ideas at work, weird sounds and stunning creations.
