The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
[Memphis Industries]

The Go! Team start their debut with a sonically charged adrenaline hit, only to follow it with a five minute collage of hip-hop, electro and 60's girl pop. This kind of inventive genre hopping becomes a recurring theme through 'Thunder, Lightning, Strike' cementing it deep into the realms of 'where the hell did these guys from'.

While the music is both fun and wildy eccentric, it bursts with ambition and precision. The fast-paced, juggernaut 'Huddle Formation' provides contrast to the whiplash beats of medieval electro 'Get It Together', and the harmonica led 'Everyone's A V.I.P. To Someone'. Whatever the genre, 'Thunder' retains its firm intention and characteristics of a fierce party soundtrack.

The international line-up of two boys / two girls sees the breath-taking results; a representation of what vastly different influences can create when brought together. Displaying more vision than most people's combined record collection, the album is an amalgamation of The Boredoms, Sonic Youth and Beastie Boys hooking up with The Neptunes to tackle the Streetsounds 'Electro' series.

Huge on ideas, even bigger in the impact department for what can only be described as this year's most explosive and accomplished debut album. The Go! Team want to sound no other and they certainly don't fail in their aims.
