Dubbel records is the fresh new sister label to the Triple records imprint, and this highly limited 3" cd release is one hell of a way to kick things off. Ascoltare Vs. Kool Keith may sound like the strangest of pairings but it's pulled off with true ingenuity.
This release features two mixes of the track 'Drugs', the 2CB mix and the 2CI mix, the former employing Ascolatre's trademark cracked and broken down clicks, beats and pulses to give the mix an almost 'micro' feel to it. The journey into audio experimentation is stopped in its tracks, however, when Keith's quick and cutting vocal delivery shatters the track with every spit and slice of insanity he lays down.
The 2CI mix lends itself yet again to the icy waters of audio electronic experimentation, as it crackles and clicks along on a melodic bed of noises and broken down sounds. This mix again offers the perfect platform for Keith to deliver his cutting stories of drug fuelled celebrity shenanigans!
This release comes packed in a zip lock bag and features an exclusive and highly limited art print by the artist Gavin O'Keefe, as well as a little helping of drug related paraphernalia....It's little touches like this which make all the difference, not only are Dubbel putting out some seriously original material there going to great lengths to make each one that little bit different.
