Are The Strokes still relevant? If this comeback is anything to go by then hell yeh! Equally as infectious as anything off the debut album, if not more.
Definitely not the greatest track worthy of a shot of the charts, more fitting would have been old crowd pleasers 'Meet Me In the Bathroom' or 'The Way It Is', but there's still plenty of time for more singles to come. As with all Strokes tracks, there's great guitar riffage that lingers in your head for days, it's also the first time we hear them toying with FX pedals and it sounds ace.
The only downfall is Julian's vocals, somewhat muffled and virtually non-existant, as a key part to their trademark sound this has to be a bad idea. Nevertheless, it's fun, catchy and a reminder of why we need and love them so dearly. With all the recent garage bands that have come in floods this last year, none have even come close to touching on the pop magic of these guys.
Don't pretend you don't like or care for them anymore, it's plain and simple fun music, enjoy it while you can.
