Will Young Thanks Simon Cowell And Pop Idol

Will Young says he owes his music career to the reality music contest he won, and he has also praised pop mogul Simon Cowell for his help.
Young was an unknown until he won the first series of Pop Idol in 2002, but now says he thanks the show for launching him as a singer: "I look back on Pop Idol and remember the process only too well. I owe a lot to it, everything in fact," he tells The Sun.
"Simon Cowell and I exchanged a few cross words at the time," Young adds, "but I have nothing but respect for what he has done bringing the show on."
