Vanessa Hudgens says it was "exciting" to play rock-chick Sa5m in 'Bandslam', but confesses that she used another famous misfit to research how to play the role.
The singer and actress admits that it was a relief to play a part so different to herself and Gabriella from High School Musical, and to help get into the mindset of an angsty teen oddball, she based her character on Wednesday from The Addams family.
"Don't get me wrong, Gabriella was a great character to play - but she was a lot like myself, sweet and nice! Going out of my comfort zone to play the opposite of me and create a whole new person was really exciting," she told Sugar magazine.
"I watched The Addams Family a lot and tapped into Wednesday's deadpan character. Plus I had to wear Dr Martens boots throughout the entire film. It was fun creating a whole new me."
