U2 Have New York Street Named In Their Honor

U2 will be honored in New York today, as a street in Times Square will be temporarily renamed after them.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that West 53rd Street will be given the new title of 'U2 Way' for one day only (March 3).

The honor coincides with the release of the band's 12th studio record 'No Line On The Horizon', which is available in the States today.

Bloomberg said the name-change was to celebrate U2's week long residency on CBS's The Late Show with David Letterman.

Bono and Co. will be the resident house band for each night of this week and their first appearance started last night (March 2).

Yesterday U2 revealed they plan to record and release another album this year, as a companion piece to 'No Line On The Horizon'.
