The Twilight Sad have recorded alternative versions of several songs that originally appeared on last year's acclaimed debut album 'Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters' (read our review), for a new mini-album.
Billed as 'Here, It Never Snowed. Afterwards It Did', six songs will make-up a 12" and digital release, set for issue on June the 9th. Two of the tracks are completely new - the first is a cover of 'Some Things Last A Long Time' by Daniel Johnston, and the second is the title piece; a song that was originally intended for their debut LP.

Guitarist Andy MacFarlane explains all: "We wanted to record re-worked versions of some songs from 'Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters' as we felt there was another side to some of them that worked just as well as the originals."
"The idea came about from playing certain gigs or sessions with a more basic line-up of just fan organ, glockenspiel and percussion. We developed that sound in the recordings by plugging the fan organ through effects, adding guitars, drones, violins and experimenting with the alternate sound."
