The Strokes To Record Fourth Album In Early 2009

Nikolai Fraiture (bassist with The Strokes) has revealed the news fans have been waiting for - the band will be recording their long overdue fourth album in February 2009.

The group haven't recorded any material together since their 2006 album 'First Impressions Of Earth', although they have been working on other projects, which Fraiture says has delayed the new LP being recorded.

"We are looking at going into the studio in February now and getting back to being a band again," Nikolai tells the BBC.

"It started with Nick [Valensi] having twins with his wife and he asked for a good amount of time off. After about six months he was ready to come back but other members of the band were doing their own thing."

Albert Hammond Jr. was doing his thing with his solo project and Julian [Casablancas, frontman] needed time off. One thing led to another so studio time kept getting pushed back."

Fraiture himself will start the new year off by releasing his debut solo album 'The Time of The Assassins', under the alias of Nickel Eye.
