The Saturdays 'We're Better Than Sugababes'

The Saturdays are aiming high - they plan to be the best girl band in the UK - and they're already saying they're better than the Sugababes.

With Girls Aloud currently on a hiatus, Frankie, Mollie, Vanessa, Rochelle and Una plan to take the spotlight when they release their second album next month.

"We know what we can do and we're ready to take advantage of their absence." Says Frankie. "All of Girls Aloud will do well individually but our new album shows how much we have improved. We are a much better all round package now."

"We're ready to pounce," Rochelle Wiseman says. "We're glad to see the back of Girls Aloud. We know what we can do and we're ready to take advantage of their absence."

"There is no one else around anyway!" Wiseman added to The Sun, while band mate Una also chipped in: "We are definitely aiming to be the best girl band around."

And when the paper asked if they were better than chart-rivals Sugababes, who themselves are releasing a new album in winter, Una said: "Yes, we're better than them."

The Saturdays release their new single 'Forever Is Over' on 5th October, and their second (still untitled) album on 12th October.
