The Rakes To Release Klang Album In 2009

The Rakes have revealed details of their third album 'Klang'.

The band recorded the eleven-tracks at Planet Roc Studios in Berline with producer Chris Zane (his previous client list includes Les Savy Fav and The Walkmen). 'Klang' will be released on March 23rd and is preceded by the single '1989' a week earlier.

Speaking of the recording, Rakes frontman Alan Donohoe explains their decision to use a studio outside of the UK: "The London music scene is so dull - it's like wading through a swamp of s***. We just wanted to be somewhere more inspiring.

"Someone suggested Berlin. It didn't take long for everyone to agree, we packed our bags and moved here just like that. We love it."

"The album is raw, playful, exciting, complex and schizophrenic - much like the personality of Berlin itself. It couldn't be more of a fitting place to record it."
