The Prodigy have explained how Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl came to feature on a song on their new album 'Invaders Must Die'.
Grohl contributed drums to one song titled 'Running With The Wolves' and band member Liam Howlett tells the BBC that the track formed after Dave emailed him recordings of him drumming.
"He sent me some drums on a hard-drive with hope that it might inspire me to write a song - sure enough when I got the hard-drive it was really inspirational. It's good to hear him play the drums without any other instruments - people don't hear that."
"Within the first ten seconds of it being on I was like 'Yeah this is a song' - the track was born Run With The Wolves."
Howlett also dismissed any rumours that Grohl had been drafted in to draw publicity to 'Invaders Must Die', insisting they have been friends for some time.
"We didn't do it to be us and Dave our rock buddy collaboration, but just as a friend of ours who does wicked drums that did a track with us. We've known Dave for quite a few years. We haven't just phoned him up and said, 'Dave can you get on the record?'"
The Prodigy will release 'Invaders Must Die' on February 23rd, a week after they release single 'Omen' on February 16th. The group are also on tour with Dizzee Rascal in the UK this April and tickets are still on sale here.
