The Game Heading To Trial

Compton rapper The Game appeared in L.A. County Superior Court yesterday stemming from an incident back in February last year at a basketball match, where he was accused of assaulting a rival player and then pulling a gun on him. He was originally charged with three felonies: possession of a firearm in a school zone, exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility for minors and making criminal threats.

The hip hop star pleaded not guilty in June but has had to go back to court this week. The judge has set a trial date for February 4th and if convicted The Game faces 5 years in prison.

As well as fighting the felony charges, The Game's lawyer has claimed that the police confiscated $44,000 off the rapper and have refused to give it back. A hearing has been set for January 22nd to see if the LAPD is in contempt of court for not returning it.
