Strokes Star To Run New York Marathon

Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes will be putting on the sneakers for charity - he's planning to take part in the New York Marathon next month.
The bass player will be doing the lengthy trek to raise funds for the New York Road Runners Foundation's Team For Kids charity.
Writing on his blog, Fraiture said: "I will be helping raise the funds needed to support youth fitness, goal-setting and nutrition programs throughout America and Africa while fulfilling, as a New Yorker, a life-long dream of running the marathon."
The Strokes are currently at work on their new album (coming in 2010) and according to frontman Julian Casablancas, they are already "halfway through" the recording.
