Solange Knowles has split ways from her record label Interscope.
Confirming the news is Solange herself, who says: "Although it's been a wonderful journey & experience at Interscope Records, after truly recognizing what's important to me as an artist, I decided it was time for me to continue my path on a more independent platform."
Knowles also thanked executives at the label, adding: "I thank Ron [Fair] and Jimmy [Iovine] for believing in me as an artist and supporting my journey... and have nothing but respect for the Interscope family."
"I'm excited about continuing to dive in, experiment and creating music and art with no boundaries, fears or expectations. Gonna be fun folks."
"Thank u all so much for all supportive comments coming through. Gonna really be up to you guys to carry on the spirit of the music."
Solange's last album was 2008's 'Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams'.
