Smashing Pumpkins To Give Away 44 Songs

The Smashing Pumpkins are to give away more than an albums worth of free songs, which they are in the process of recording.

The band have just begun the recording of 44-track new album called 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope', and will release each and every song for free one at a time.

The first will be available for download at the end of October.

Billy Corgan says: "Free will mean free, which means you won't have to sign up for anything, give an email address, or jump through a hoop."

"You will be able to go and take the song or songs as you wish, as many times as you wish."

Fans who want a physical release will be able to buy 11 EPs containing four songs each, as well as a deluxe box set featuring all 44 tracks.
