Slipknot have broken their silence and named their fourth album 'All Hope Is Gone' - which will be released on August 26th.
Speaking to Billboard, frontman Corey Taylor says: "We have made an album that will show the road behind, the road ahead, and where we are as men. I think it's the best thing I've ever made. And I challenge anyone to prove me wrong."
Taylor also went on to say 'All Hope Is Gone' is a "very dark" cross between the Slipknot albums 'Vol. 3' and 'Iowa'. "It has so much power in it and yet there are so many great spots for melody," Taylor said. "It's a controlled chaos that hits you right out of the gate."
On the subject of lyrics, Corey added: "Instead of bitching about what went wrong in my life, I'm bitching about what's wrong in life, period. I got to the point where I was tired of pretending that I couldn't sing every time I made a Slipknot album, so this time I'm going all out."
Slipknot haven't delivered an album since 'Vol. 3', which was released in 2004. The masked metal rockers will also be co-headlining a 30-date Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem tour in the States this July.
