Simon Cowell doesn't see himself as "nasty" - however, he did tell a group of children that being evil is "more fun than being nice"!
The X Factor judge was speaking about what children had asked him during an interview, following his appointment as the Patron of Chidren's Hospices UK.
"My favourite question was at the end - 'Why are you evil?' And the answer: 'It's more fun than being nice'," said Cowell.
"I've never honestly considered myself to be nasty. Whatever people think of me genuinely is sort of irrelevant. Judging a talent show is a job, this is the real world."
And speaking about his new role with the Children's Hospices, Cowell confirmed that he wasn't all bad: "[I wanted to give] a little bit back," he revealed. "Let's be honest, I've got a lot out of what I've done basically from support from the public."
"They've given me an awful lot. I have a great life, I enjoy my jobs but everything that's happened to me has happened through public support."
The X Factor Live tour for 2010 is now on sale - tickets are available here.
