Ryan Tedder Hits Back At Kelly Clarkson

After Kelly Clarkson accused Ryan Tedder of giving her the same piece of music he wrote for Beyonce's 'Halo' this week, the songwriter has now given his side of the story.

Kelly has explained her frustration at the two similar-sounding tracks - especially as her song 'Already Gone' has been chosen as her next single from the album 'All I Ever Wanted'.

But Ryan has hit back, insisting the two are very different pieces of music.

"'Already Gone' is one of the best songs I've written or produced since 'Bleeding Love' [by Leona Lewis] and stands tall on it's own merits apart from 'Halo'." He says in a statement.

"They are two entirely different songs conceptually, melodically, & lyrically and I would never try to dupe an artist such as Kelly Clarkson or Beyonce into recording over the same musical track, the idea is both hurtful & absurd."

Tedder is confident fans won't dismiss Clarkson's song as just a rip-off once they've sat down and heard the song, as he continues:

"I think when people hear 'Already Gone' they will hear what I hear - one of the greatest female vocalists on earth giving her most haunting and heart-breaking performance on a song she helped write."
