Roisin Murphy suffered a nasty accident on stage while performing in Moscow at the Ikra Club on Saturday night (Oct 27th).
During a performance of Primitive (from her new album Overpowered) Murphy hit her head on a chair and severely damaged her eye socket. The singer was then rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, before being flown back to the UK early Sunday morning.
Last night she had an operation to repair the bust eye socket and eyebrow. Thankfully Murphy's vision in unimpaired, even after losing a lot of blood and suffering from serious concussion.
Obviously Roisin Murphy needs time to recuperate, so her remaining European dates have been cancelled for at least the next seven days. However her UK and Irish tour dates starting on 26th November should be unaffected.
November Tour Dates:
26th - Dome/Corn Exchange, Brighton
27th - KOKO, London
29th - Academy, Bristol
December Tour Dates:
1st - ABC, Glasgow
2nd - Academy, Manchester
5th - Spring & Airbrake, Belfast
8th - Village, Dublin
