Rihanna 'Investigated For Illegal Tattoos'

Rihanna has landed herself in hot water, for giving tattoos without having a license.

The singer - who is no stranger to body art herself - inked three people at New York City's East Side Ink. According to studio owner Yadira: "She came by to hang out with us and her regular tattoo artist Bang Bang."

"He decided he wanted to get a tattoo from her and then two of the other artists decided they wanted to get one as well." He told E! Online.

"She tattooed us for a change," Yadira added. "It's a little umbrella with a capital "R" underneath it. The second and third had a number two and a number three next to it."

However, in NYC, tattooists need to obtain a license before they are permitted to ink any one else.

According to TMZ, penalties could be $300 for the first tattoo, $500 for the second and $1,000 for the third. And on top of this, East Side Ink could face fines.
