Red Hot Chili Peppers John Frusciante Talks New Solo Album

Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist John Frusciante has spoken about his new solo album 'The Empyrean'.

The record is his tenth solo outing to date and will land in stores on January 20th. Collaborations on the LP include RHCP bandmate Flea, Johnny Marr (formerly of The Smiths and now The Cribs), plus Josh Klinghoffer.

"The drive to create music that is pure is my highest priority," Frusciante tells Music Radar of the album. "Sometimes I'll get extremely technical in my approach, and other times I'll just kind of go with the gods of music."

"I think an artist has to answer to whatever spirits are guiding him. Even if they're in conflict, that's OK."

The Empyrean Tracklisting is as follows:

1. Before the Beginning
2. Song to the Siren (Tim Buckley cover)
3. Unreachable
4. God
5. Dark/Light
6. Heaven
7. Enough of Me
8. Central
9. One More of Me
10. After the Ending
