Radiohead Sign Japanese Deal For In Rainbows Release

Radiohead have inked a deal with Hostess Entertainment (an independent Japanese music company) for the Japanese distribution of their new album In Rainbows (read the Angry Ape review).

The deal will see a Japanese version of the In Rainbows website being launched next month, which as president and founder of Hostess Andrew Lazonby says: "Will enable Japanese fans old and new to discover the album ahead of the official release date in a similar way to how people in the West got on board."

Lazonby added, "Going direct to fans via a local sales and marketing company like Hostess gives the artist an unprecedented level of direction and control over how the release is presented and delivered across old and new formats, in what is traditionally a very rigid and structured market."

A physical version of In Rainbows will be available in Japan from December 26th - 5 days before the UK will see the CD / Vinyl issue.
