Radiohead Decided To Scrap In Rainbows Artwork

Stanley Donwood - the cover artist for Radiohead - has revealed that the group scrapped the artwork for their new album In Rainbows at the last minute.

During an interview with the Today programme on BBC Radio 4, Donwood said Radiohead decided they would hold on releasing the artwork for the album as it was currently only available as an MP3 digital download.

Speaking of the cover, Stanley said: "What did you miss out on? Well it's very colourful - I've finally embraced colour! It's a rainbow but it is very toxic, it's more like the sort of one you'd see in a puddle."

Referring to Radiohead's policy on letting fans pay whatever they wanted for In Rainbows, Donwood admitted he didn't pay anything for it.

"I paid no pence for the album, I was just checking the website was working. If you paid nothing the screen flashed up 'we value your custom, you're in a queue', whereas if you paid for it you went straight to the download code, just a bit of irony that no one got as normal."
