Portishead Not Giving New Album Away For Free

Portishead are looking for new ways to release their music, but have decided they won't be giving away their next album for free.

The trio, who last year released the widely acclaimed 'Third' album, are free of a record deal and are hoping fans can advise them on how they should deliver the follow-up LP.

In a MySpace blog post entitled 'The Future', Geoff Barrow says: "We spent the day discussing the future of the P as we are free... well free of a deal and free of comitment... for now!"

"With the world being the way it is there are lots of options open..." The Portishead multi-instrumentalist added. "But if you lot have any bright ideas of how we should sell our music in the future lets us know, why not!"

Although fans who are hoping for free music, shouldn't hold their breath. "I don't think that were into giving out music away for free to be honest... it f***in' takes ages to write and we have to heat our swimming pools...!!!"

Last December Barrow confirmed Portishead would be recording their fourth album.
