Popworld has been axed from July onwards according to Channel 4, after six and half years being on air.
The show gained popularity from presenters Simon Amstell and Miquita Oliver, who are now working on other projects. Replacements Alex Zane and Alexa Chung were then drafted in last year.
However, a spokesperson for Popworld has claimed Channel 4 has decided not to recommission the show, by saying:
"The show has performed very successfully over this period but we are keen to continue to use our T4 platform as a launch pad for new music formats that reflect our audience's tastes and the way in which they consume music."
