Peter, Bjorn & John To Release TWO Albums This Year

Peter, Bjorn & John will release two new albums before the year is out, the Swedish three-piece claim.

The first of the LP's is a "playful" intrumental album, featuring ten songs that were recorded in Stockholm and New York.

"It's something we've always wanted to do to have a bit of fun between albums," band member Peter Moren told the NME. "It's very melodic and unpretentious and laid-back."

Parts of the album, although intstrumental, will feature spoken word sections: "We each have our own theme song. Mine has my grandfather telling a story in a local dialect, and John's has a haidresser from his village telling a story."

"It's probably going to be called 'Seaside Rock', to tie together the themes of water and sea," Moren added.

Peter, Bjorn & John are also now working on the official follow-up to their acclaimed 2006 album 'Writer's Block' - "We've recorded quite a few songs and the idea is to finish it this summer and release it next March," said Moren.

Moren also jokingly added, "Whistling is banned." - in relation to the infamous whistling parts of hit single 'Young Folks'.
