Paramore Don't Want To Be "The Movie Band"

Paramore's Hayley Williams has defended her decision not to record the lead single to Twilight sequel New Moon, saying she didn't want her group to be known as "the movie band."

Having had a hit single with 'Decode' for Twilight, it was natural that the rock group would be asked to contribute another track for it's highly anticipated follow up.

But Hayley explains that Paramore didn't want to monopolize the movie soundtrack industry, and thought it was time to give another band a go.

"We got asked to do Transformers 2 and New Moon and we don't want to be the movie band," Williams explained to Entertainment Weekly.

"You know, we have our own record to push. And I like zombies - they're way cooler than vampires! But when they brought up New Moon, we definitely weren't like, 'Eww, I can't believe you even asked!'"

"It was time for another band to do it and Death Cab For Cutie's gonna be better anyway because they're just better. It makes me feel good about myself - if they did it too, I'm okay!"

Twilight release their latest album 'Brand New Eyes' this week.
