Oasis, The Killers and More Set To Re-record Sgt. Pepper's

A host of names have been selected to re-record the influential Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album by The Beatles, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the classic record.

Although the full list of bands set to take part in the project has been fully decided, six acts have been confirmed so far:

Oasis, The Killers, Travis, Razorlight, The Fratellis, James Morrison and Kaiser Chiefs will all be recording cover versions, which will then be aired on a special broadcast on BBC Radio 2.

Geoff Emerick, the engineer who worked on the original recording sessions, will be also be working on the new project.

The Beatles release Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on June 1st 1967, the new version will be broadcast on June 2nd.
