New Babyshambles Songs "Sound Like Stone Roses"

Babyshambles' new material is being compared to The Stone Roses by a member of the band.

The Pete Doherty-led group are currently working on the follow-up to 2007's Shotter's Nation since November.

Drummer Adam Ficek has spoken about the band's demos so far, telling the Daily Star:

Ficek, whos is currently working on solo project Roses, Kings, Castles, revealed that the band were currently working on demos for the follow-up to 2007's Shotter's Nation.

He told the Daily Star: "The songs we have done so far are pretty groove-based, like early Stone Roses."

"It's less straightforward rock 'n' roll and punk. It's a bit more beat-driven. Some of the stuff coming out was sounding like Fools Gold, which is pretty amazing."

"As normal, we won't spend long making it. It's all thrown together in scraps whenever we get a chance."

"We carry on writing a few days a week then do the demos and probably go into the studio around November or December."

Babyshambles plan to release the album in early 2010.
