Nadine Coyle Says She Was "Selfish" During Her Ex's Alcohol Problems

Nadine Coyle of Girls Aloud has spoken about her relationship with former boyfriend Jesse Metcalfe, even saying she was "selfish" as the actor battled with alcoholism.

The pair dated for a year, but split after the singer felt too young to deal with her partner's problems.

"He had a horrible time going to rehab and it was all too much for me," Coyle tells Now. "I blocked it out of my life and decided not to be a part of it and that's wrong."

"That's not something you should do if you love somebody. I regretted being so selfish about it and so dismissive of him genuinely having a problem."

Nadine also spoke about her current lovelife, insisting she is happy to be single: "I don't feel the need for another relationship."

"My life is fulfilled as it is and I have loads of male friends so I'm never stuck for male company."

Girls Aloud have busy times ahead, the five-piece will be releasing their new single 'The Promise' on October 27th, as well as their autobiography 'Dreams That Glitter'.
