Morrissey Set For Eurovison?

Morrissey could well represent the UK in this year's annual Eurovision Song Contest according to the BBC.

The former Smiths frontman has shown an interest in performing at the 2007 event, after the dissappointing reaction to 2006's UK entry Daz Sampson (his song Teenage Life came fifth from last).

Morrissey told the BBC: "I was horrified but not surprised to see the UK fail". Before adding: "Why didn't they ask me?"

The BBC has confirmed it is in talks with Morrissey to write and possibly perform a new song for the 2007 contest, which is taking place in May. A spokeswoman for the BBC has warned "nothing is confirmed at the moment".
