Morrissey Number 1 In New Downloads Merged Album Charts

Morrissey has become the first musician to top the offical UK album charts, since it has changed to include download sales.
The former Smiths vocalist took the number 1 slot with his latest album, Ringleader Of The Tormentors.
Last weekend (April 8-9th), saw full length album downloads being counted towards chart placement.
However, around only one in 50 albums are currently sold in download format.
