Morrissey Hints At Retirement Plans

Morrissey has hinted about when he may hang up his microphone and call it a day.

Talking to XFM presenter Ian Camfield, the 49-year-old (who released new album 'Years Of Refusal' today) suggested he may have just 5 years left in the music industry.

When quizzed as to whether he would still be performing when he reaches 55 or 60, Morrissey replied: "I think it's incredibly slim. For Heaven's sake! Really?"

The singer, who turns 50 later this year, also spoke of how the average artist becomes irrelevant at a certain age.

"I assume most people lose it because they become satisfied and they achieve everything they ever set out to achieve."

"More to the point, they become personally satisfied and that they're quite happy and it doesn't matter any more." Morrissey continued.

"It's very interesting that it's very hard to think of anybody who ages and still manages to mean anything."
