Missy Elliott Talks About Block Party Album

Missy Elliot has spoken about her next album, revealing that her seventh studio record will be named 'Block Party'.

After saying she wanted to collaborate with Timbaland back in January (link), Missy has confirmed the producer has worked on the new material, alongside Pharrell Williams and T-Pain. The follow-up to 2005's 'The Cookbook' will be released in August.

Speaking to Billboard about 'Block Party', Elliott says: "A lot of my albums are really hip-hop-driven, with tinges of other music genres. But this album is hip-hop, with a sort of U.K. hip-hop sound to it."

When asked about her partnership with Timbaland, Missy added: "People always ask if we're still working together, and the answer is we will always work together. He's always going to be involved, even if it is just on one record. That's my brother. I respect and honour what he says."
