Michael Jackson could be hitting the top 10 UK album charts again this weekend, thanks to his songs being covered by contestants on X Factor at the weekend.
Fans have been flocking to buy his recent 'King Of Pop' compilation after seeing the budding singers covering his hit singles. Last week the CD sat at number 47 in the charts, but now Jacko is currently outselling 'Off With Their Heads' by Kaiser Chiefs by 2-to-1 say midweek sales figures.
A spokesman for HMV - Genaro Castaldo - told BBC 6Music that the music show has a way of dominating the charts: "The X Factor shows have become the biggest way of promoting music in the UK ever since we lost Top Of The Pops. Everyone queues up to get on there."
"It just shows you the enduring appeal of Michael Jackson, reminding you of how brilliant his songs are, but also it tells us all how incredibly powerful the X Factor has become at promoting music in the UK," Castaldo added.
