Michael Jackson Public Memorial Set For Staples Center

A Michael Jackson public memorial will reportedly be taking place next week, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, on Tuesday (July 7).
The venue is special to Jacko, in the sense that it was the last location he ever performed - during rehearsals for his London O2 Arena residency - just 2 days before he died.
While Randy Philips (president and CEO of AEG) told KNBC that the service will start at 10 a.m.
The Center holds 20,000 fans, although Philips did add that widescreen TVs will broadcast the service outside the venue, for those unable to get entry.
"Details are still to be finalized when I meet with the Jackson family this afternoon," Philips said. "Everything is in preliminary stages except the place and time."
Fans had hoped a public memorial would be staged at Jackson's former Neverland ranch, but his family were unable to obtain permission.
The Jackson family have recently issued a statement regarding the death of Michael.
