Maximo Park are appealing for the return of a stolen instrument, which was taken on their new tour.
The band had not even played the opening show on their current UK jaunt, last night at the Newcastle Academy (May 13), when a guitar was taken.
The instrument, which belongs to Duncan Lloyd, is of personal value to the guitarist and now the band are hoping to see its return.
A statement from Maximo Park says:
"The guitar is a 1979 brown and gold Gretsch Country Gent. The guitar was purchased from Stella Barker from the 80's pop band the Belle Stars and prior to this was played by Joe Strummer from The Clash."
"Maximo Park are offering a significant reward for the return of the guitar and all information will be kept strictly confidential. Please email maximopark@warprecords.com"
