Mariah Carey Is Not Dissing Eminem On New Song

Nick Cannon has ruled-out rumors that the new Mariah Carey single, 'Obsessed', is written about Eminem.

Em poked fun at Carey in his track 'Bagpipes from Baghdad', and it's thought this new song is a retaliation - especially as the singer mimics the '8 Mile' rapper in the forthcoming video.

Talking to MTV, Cannon however states otherwise. He says: "I don't think that she would take her time. My wife doesn't beef. She's Mariah Carey. She's not beefin', she's a vegetarian."

Nick did reveal what the real inspiration behind the song is: "To be completely honest, she did the record 'cause she's a huge fan of this movie 'Mean Girls,' and there's a line in the movie where one of the girls is like, 'Why are you so obsessed with me?'"

"She says that at the beginning of the song, and that's where the concept came from. But you know, art imitates life."

'Obsessed' is lifted from the new album 'Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel', which Mariah Carey releases on August 24 (UK) / August 25 (US).
