Liam Gallagher 'Apologises For V Festival'

Liam Gallagher has apologised to those fans attending the V Festival to catch Oasis live yesterday (August 23rd), as the band were forced to pull out at the eleventh hour.

The singer was diagnosed with viral laryngitis, meaning they could not perform at the Chelmsford event.

"The voice may of disappeared but I'm still here," Liam wrote on Twitter. "First things first V I'm gutted, you're gutted. I'm sorry, what can I say? F*** all at the moment."

Snow Patrol stood in for the band and covered a pair of Oasis songs ('Wonderwall' and 'Champagne Supernova'), as well as Keane and MGMT - who also covered hits by the group.

"Secondly, respect to those bands who covered Oasis last night, even though I might of given some of you s*** in the past." Gallagher added.

With news of the pulled gig, some tabloids even hinted the band were on the verge of splitting. But Gallagher insists things are continuing as normal.

"Finally reports in smartarses' column about Oasis last British gig ever," he continued. "The kid's talking out his arse, I mean Rkids, beware of darkness."
